BLACK HAWK PROJECT

BLACK HAWKS, ANYONE?

Monday 16 August, 1999 14:07:44 PDT

O K, I'm officially tired of waiting for "Little Bird" to hit the shelves. As cool as it promises to be, "Little Bird" just isn't going to be adequate to my unit's needs anyway. It'll be a great support aircraft, but my troops need air TRANSPORT...something big enough to carry an entire squad!

W hile these 1:48 scale MH-60K models I've been working on are really cool for photographs, they just aren't big enough for the level of detail I want and of course my troops can't actually fit in them). I obviously can't afford a 1:1 size helo (it'd be too big to fit in the driveway anyway) and the custom 1:6 scale ones are similarly waaaaaay beyond my already stretched Joe budget.

S eeing the pictures of the 21C display Black Hawk have inspired me. Enough of this small potatoes stuff!! I have decided to scratch-build my own 1:6 scale MH-60K helo for my troops. If you are interested, I will keep you all posted as to my project's progress and take an occasional picture along the way. I figure by announcing my intentions to all of you I'll HAVE to follow-through, instead of letting another one of my half-baked projects clutter my garage and gather dust in some forgotten corner by the lawn mower. Uh, oh...forget I mentioned lawn mower...the lawn doesn't need mowing THAT badly, does it?

A nyway...I'm starting today and I'll post step-by-step updates and pics on the project on the sixth-scale group if Eagle doesn't have any objections.
