TERMS OF MEMBERSHIP

In order to develop and maintain the highest possible quality of members within the unit, as well as to provide for its continued smooth operation, our group has established these Terms of Membership. All members are subject to these terms and shall be required to abide by them.

Members who fail to comply with these requirements may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination of their Flash Force membership.

MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT

Any person who is at least eighteen (18) years of age may join Flash Force, provided that he or she meets the minimum eligibility requirements and agrees to abide by the Terms of Membership.

Any person who was a member of Flash Force prior to 1 February 2003 or any family member of a Flash Force member in good standing shall be exempt from the minimum age requirement.

E-MAIL REQUIREMENTS

We regret that we will no longer approve any new subscription requests received from Hotmail, Yahoo!, Excite, or other free e-mail accounts. Unfortunately, this change has become necessary for the protection and security of our group and its members. Before we may approve any new subscription request, we must be able to contact the applicant through a dedicated e-mail address (such as that provided through a company, organization, institution, or paid Internet Service Provider).
    PLEASE NOTE: A dedicated e-mail address will only be used to validate a subscription request and shall be kept strictly confidential. Once we have validated a dedicated e-mail address, we would be happy to approve the subscription. At that time, the new member may begin receiving and sending group e-mails through his or her Yahoo!, Hotmail, Excite or other free e-mail service simply by changing the delivery options on their membership subscription account.
We apologize for this inconvenience, but must require this procedure as a means of safeguarding the high quality of service our members have come to expect.

MISCONDUCT

For the safety and welfare of our members, the privileges of any Flash Force member may be modified or suspended if the candidate or member has engaged in or is under investigation for misconduct or any breach of these terms of membership. Misconduct is defined as any conduct or activity deemed by any Board member to be inconsistent with the values of the organization or detrimental to its members.

The term “detrimental” includes, but is not limited to any activity that may be considered suspicious, harassing, subversive, offensive, or criminal in nature. The term “investigation” includes any official inquiry, formal proceeding, or investigative action, whether undertaken by the Board of Directors or any outside government agency.

Under such circumstances, any Board member may at any time take such reasonable action as may be necessary for the overall benefit and safety of the unit members. Whenever such action is taken, it shall be the responsibility of the initiating Board member to bring the matter to the attention of the remaining members of the Board for further resolution.

CRIMINAL CONVICTIONS

Any membership in Flash Force may be denied or terminated without notice if the candidate or member is or has been convicted of any felony or serious crime. The definition of a felony or serious crime includes, but is not limited to any criminal action relating to the following:
  • Possession or use of controlled substances (drugs or alcohol);
  • Acts of fraud, theft, or deceit;
  • Use of threats, force, or violence;
  • Unlawful possession or use of firearms or other weapons; and,
  • Acts of moral turpitude or sexual misconduct.

GENERAL CONDUCT

Every member shall be required to comply with the following provisions of general conduct:
    No member shall make any communication that disparages any other person with regard to his nationality, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, or disability.

    No member shall use any vulgar, violent, or profane language in or upon any public forum, including Flash Force forums.

    No member shall post, distribute, or cause to be posted or distributed, any sexually explicit or pornographic materials in or upon any public forum, including Flash Force forums.

    Members shall at all times be courteous and civil to other persons. They shall at all times treat others with due respect.

    Members shall be scrupulously honest and shall abide by any trade agreements made with others.

    Except as otherwise provided by law, all information regarding Flash Force access codes and passwords, member names, addresses, e-mail addresses, or other personal information shall be treated as confidential. Intentional release of such information relating to any other member without the consent of that member is prohibited.

    All images and materials contained in Flash Force websites and other publications or products are copyrighted or trademarked. The unauthorized wearing, display, reproduction, or distribution of these, or any other Flash Force insignias, emblems, images, passwords, or website links is prohibited.

    No member shall utilize any Flash Force forum for the purpose of mass messaging (SPAM), either to gather referral bonuses or solicit business for any commercial enterprise. Flash Force members who are affiliated with businesses that offer products and/or services of interest to the general membership may, on occasion, announce availability of new products or services to the group.

DISCIPLINARY ACTION

Any member who fails to abide by the provisions of the Flash Force Terms of Membership may be subject to disciplinary action. Disciplinary action may include any of the following:
  • Informal warning;
  • Formal reprimand;
  • Suspension or modification of member privileges;
  • Revocation of member privileges; and/or,
  • Termination of membership.
Disciplinary action may be temporary or permanent, depending upon the severity of the breach of conduct.

While any ranking member may issue an informal warning as appropriate, only a member of the Board may take more restrictive action. Responsibility for termination of any membership rests solely with the Board of Directors.

MODIFICATIONS OF TERMS OF MEMBERSHIP

The Board of Directors reserves the right to modify these Terms of Membership at any time and without prior notice.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
